Burnout. Rejection sensitivity. The exhaustion of trying to fit into a neurotypical world. If you’re running on empty, you are just working against systems that weren’t designed for how your brain works.

Feeling burnt out isn't a character flaw

You’ve been told you’re “too sensitive,” that you need to “try harder,” or “just focus.” But your nervous system is wired differently.

What looks like procrastination might be overwhelm. What feels like laziness might be autistic burnout. What seems like overreacting might be Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD).

The world expects you to operate like a neurotypical person, and it’s exhausting.

You’re not failing. Many neurodivergent people are navigating systems that weren’t designed with their nervous system in mind.

ADHD and AuDHD coaching is a space to get curious about how your brain works, build awareness, and discover what genuinely works for you.

Our Core Values

Hello, I’m Khalie! Together we explore ways to create a life that feels more sustainable, regulated and authentic.

I work with ADHD and AuDHD adults, young adults and teens who feel burnt out from trying to keep up with a world that doesn’t always understand how their brain works.

Here's what you should know about me

I’m a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, certified Neuroaffirming Supervisor, and ADHD/AuDHD coach in West Kirby, Wirral.

I’m ADHD myself. This isn’t just academic knowledge, it’s shared lived experience. I know what it’s like to navigate a neurotypical world with a brain that works differently.

I’ve spent 20 years in corporate, so I know what high-achieving burnout feels like. I’ve been in practice for 3 years, and coaching for 1 year.

My therapeutic background in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Neuroaffrming Supervision, and somatic practices means I understand both the neurological and nervous system aspects of being ADHD and/or autistic.

My qualifications: BA (Hons), HPD, DSFH, AFSFH (Reg), Certified Neuroaffirming Supervisor

This is a space where you can just be human.

I don’t tell you what to do. Instead, we get curious together. We build awareness about what’s happening in your body and nervous system. Then you discover the solution. This is about creative adjustment, not compliance.

ADHD brains are often interest-driven. Curiosity, meaning and engagement tend to activate motivation far more than arbitrary deadlines or rigid productivity systems. Chronic stress isn’t a personal failing; it’s what happens when your nervous system is constantly working against the grain.

Whether you’re ADHD, autistic, or AuDHD, this is a space where you don’t need to mask or apologise for how your brain works.

I’m also a neuroaffirming supervisor, which means other professionals can book supervision sessions with me to reflect on supporting neurodivergent clients or to discuss their own neurodivergent experiences in their practice.
This is a human-to-human connection. No judgment. No expectations. Just real experience meeting real experience.

What Makes Neuroaffirming ADHD Coaching Different?

Your ADHD or AuDHD brain works differently; that’s not something to fix. We’re helping you understand your needs, build self-compassion, and create a life where you’re not constantly fighting your own nervous system.

And because I’m ADHD myself, I bring shared lived experience to our work together. I’m not speaking from theory, I’m speaking from knowing exactly what it’s like.

Here's how we'll work together

Initial Chat

We’ll have a gentle, relaxed conversation about what’s happening for you right now.

There’s no pressure and no judgement — just a chance to see if we’re a good fit and whether coaching feels right for you.

This helps us see if we’re a good fit.

Together we’ll explore what burnout looks like for you, what triggers your RSD, how your energy patterns work and what support you genuinely need — not what you think you ‘should’ need.

Together we’ll develop personalised approaches that work with your nervous system and experiment with small adjustments to discover what genuinely supports your brain and energy.

Between sessions you may experiment with small strategies. We’ll reflect on what works, what doesn’t and adjust together. This is a collaborative process where your insight guides the work.

Really enjoyed my coaching with Khalie. Very personable and easy to get on with. Khalie quickly understood my needs and provided appropriate support to encourage me to take action. Khalie gently challenged my preconceptions and held me accountable for actions I'd set in our sessions, which I really needed.

Would highly recommend.

Khalie has coached two of my ADHD young adults recently. The results have been really life changing for them, giving them insights, knowledge and understanding about themselves and the way they relate to the world. Absolutely 5* and highly recommend if you are considering this coaching for yourself or a family member.

I cannot recommend Active Minds Hypnotherapy highly enough.
Khalie made sure I felt safe and helped me understand how hypnotherapy works. After my first session I couldn’t wait for my next. The therapy felt tailored to suit my personal needs and goals. The outcome was brilliant and I believe my sessions with Active Minds played a massive role in me overcoming my challenges.
I will definitely be returning to Active Minds in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is neuroaffirming ADHD coaching?

I don’t see ADHD or autism as deficits that need fixing.

Instead, we work with your brain, building on your creative strengths.

Neuroaffirming ADHD and AuDHD coaching is about curiosity, awareness, and discovering the strategies that genuinely work for you.

Therapy and coaching both support personal change but often focus on different areas. Therapy may explore emotional experiences and patterns developed over time.

Coaching focuses more on the present and future, helping you build practical strategies to prevent burnout, navigate RSD, and develop systems that work with your interest-based nervous system.

As a qualified hypnotherapist with lived experience, my work blends therapeutic understanding with practical coaching strategies.

No. Many people I work with are self-identified, exploring diagnosis, waiting for assessment, or already diagnosed.

If you recognise yourself in ADHD or AuDHD experiences, that’s enough to begin exploring support.

AuDHD refers to people who experience both ADHD and autistic traits.

This combination can include executive function differences, sensory sensitivities, social exhaustion, and a greater risk of burnout.

Alongside professional training, I also bring lived experience of neurodivergence to this work.

RSD (Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria) refers to intense emotional pain triggered by perceived rejection, criticism, or failure.

It is commonly experienced by people with ADHD and autism, and many AuDHD individuals experience this sensitivity strongly, particularly after years of misunderstanding or masking.

Together we explore these patterns with curiosity and develop regulation strategies that support your nervous system.

ADHD brains are often motivated by interest, curiosity, challenge, and novelty rather than arbitrary importance or deadlines. This isn’t a flaw; it’s simply how your brain works.

Understanding this can explain why traditional productivity advice often doesn’t work for neurodivergent people.

Coaching length varies depending on your goals. Some people find meaningful change in 6–8 sessions, while others prefer longer support.

I tend to work with clients for around 12 weeks, which creates a clear beginning and end to the process while allowing time to explore patterns and develop supportive strategies.

I am based in West Kirby on the Wirral. Sessions are available in person locally and online across the UK and internationally.

Neuroaffirming supervision provides a reflective space for therapists, coaches, and support workers who work with neurodivergent clients or who are exploring their own neurodivergence.

Sessions offer an hour for reflection, discussion, and professional development.
